Potentiometer | OFF position | LED indicator
Product description
The LTV Potentiometer is a device for controlling ventilation systems. It operates on a 230 VAC supply and provides a 0-10 VDC output signal to manage devices like EC fans and valve actuators.
Here are its key features:
Variable Control: The rotary knob offers continuous control and has a distinct OFF-position for zero output.
Status Indicator: A green LED lights up when the output voltage is above 0V, indicating the system is active. It turns off when the system is in the OFF-position.
Flexible Mounting: The splash-proof enclosure supports both inset mounting (IP44) and surface mounting (IP54).

What does this potentiometer control?
A potentiometer serves the purpose of generating a continuously variable signal to control other devices. The control signal is adjusted based on the position of the rotary knob, commonly used for remotely controlling EC fans, damper actuators, AC fan speed controllers or frequency inverters. This allows for decentralized installation, such as placing the potentiometer in an office room while the fan speed controller is situated in a technical room or electrical cabinet.
The LTV-1-010-NA potentiometer is developed to control fans equipped with an EC motor or to be used as an input device for fan speed controllers with 0 –10 VDC inputs (Sentera’s EVS or MVS series of fan speed controllers or FI-E series of variable frequency drives). Connecting and using the LTV-1-010-NA is simplified in such a way that it is intuitive and does not require special tools or in-depth knowledge.

What is the supply voltage?
Operating with a 230 VAC supply voltage, this potentiometer produces an output voltage ranging from 0 to 10 VDC. The 230 VAC supply voltage is standard in many electrical systems, and the 0 - 10 VDC output range facilitates precise adjustment of associated HVAC equipment. Directly connecting to the mains without a power supply module simplifies the setup, enhancing convenience.

What are the limits of the control signal?
The 0 - 10 VDC control signal is a prevalent method in the HVAC industry for regulating parameters like EC fan speed or valve positions. Representing a range of desired settings, the 0 - 10 VDC signal corresponds to modulation from 0 % to 100 % of the parameter. A 0 V signal signifies the minimum setting, while a 10 V signal denotes the maximum, providing versatile control possibilities.
What does the OFF position do?
The rotary knob of the LTV-1-010-NA has an OFF position, i.e. when the rotary knob is turned completely counterclockwise, the control signal will be disabled. When the rotary knob is turned clockwise, it clicks out of the OFF position. The control signal will immediately go to its low limit level. In case an EC fan is connected to the potentiometer, it will start and accelerate towards low speed.
The green LED operating indicator lights up when the rotary knob is turned clockwise, i.e. when not in the OFF position. In OFF position the green LED is deactivated.
What makes the enclosure reliable?
In order to guarantee the quality of its enclosures, Sentera designs and manufactures them in its own factory – Sentera Plastics. The enclosure of the LTV-1-010-NA is a wall-mounted housing made of durable ASA plastic in a cream color (RAL 9010). The material offers UV resistance and protection against dust, water splashes and impacts. The design supports two-in-one installation on walls or panels, accommodating both inset and surface mounting options. With IP44 for inset mounting and IP54 for surface mounting, the enclosure reliably shields internal components from environmental elements.
The design aligns with standard European wall boxes for seamless inset mounting, and its overall solidity suits various wall types. The combination of material and design features enhances durability and suitability for diverse HVAC environments. Cleaning is simple, requiring only a damp cloth, contributing to maintenance convenience.
