Product description

Circular constant air volume (CAV) controller is a device used in HVAC systems to regulate the airflow in a circular duct while keeping a constant volume of air. The CAV controller achieves its function by adjusting the damper position within the circular duct. Comparing to mechanical CAV controllers, this motorised controller uses a motor to automatically adjust the position of the damper blade. Therefore, it is more precise and can be controlled remotely. The motorised damper has also a built-in differential pressure controller to control the motor and keep the differential pressure constant at the desired setpoint.

This CAV controller is compatible with 125 mm diameter standard air ducts and is powered by a 24 VDC (PoM) supply voltage. It has the ability to regulate airflows at velocities of 0 to 10 m/s. The setpoint, minimum and maximum damper blade position and all other settings can be adjusted via Modbus RTU communication.

To prevent the leakage of the air, the damper blade and enclosure must be airtight. Airtightness is a crucial feature of circular CAV controllers, as it can increase comfort, lower noise levels, and improve efficiency of the devices. This damper blade provides class 4 airtightness, and the enclosure's airtightness is classified as class D according to EN 1751.

Circular CAV controllers are used in a variety of applications such as hospitals, laboratories, and cleanrooms. They are a valuable tool for providing different amounts of airflow to different areas of a building.

Additional specifications and description

Guarantee Constant Air Volume supply
This circular motorized damper has an integrated pressure controller. The damper blade position is automatically controlled to maintain differential pressure (air volume flow or air velocity) constant at the desired setpoint. In case of strongly fluctuating demand for fresh air in the different rooms of a building, this control valve can guarantee a constant air supply in a certain room. Airflow has a significant impact both on the quality of the air we breathe and on our comfort. Proper airflow provides ventilation, i.e. brings fresh whilst removing stale air, thus the levels of indoor air pollutants, such as volatile organic compounds (VOCs), carbon monoxide, and other harmful gases are minimized. This is also called a CAV (Constant Air Volume) controller. The setpoint can be adjusted via Modbus RTU communication or via the SenteraWeb cloud platform.

Minimum air resistance results in energy savings
This circular damper can be used in combination with standard circular ducts with a diameter of 125 mm. The circular ducts can be inserted inside the damper. To guarantee the airtightness of the system, the transition between duct and damper must be sealed with aluminum tape. The damper does not cause extra air resistance because the ducts can be slid into the damper. This increases the efficiency of the complete system. Resistance and pressure drops are reduced to the absolute minimum. As a result, the energy consumption of the fans will be significantly lower.

Reduced installation time
Modbus RTU communication and 24 VDC supply voltage can be connected via one UTP cable - we call it Power over Modbus or PoM. To facilitate wiring, we recommend to use the Sentera 24 VDC power supplies with RJ45 connector. These power supplies offer protection against short circuit, overload and overvoltage. A 24 VDC supply voltage increases the safety and reliability of your installation. This CAV controller can also be connected via the terminal block. Make sure not to connect the supply voltage via the terminal block and via the RJ45 socket simultaneously!

Easy to use
The desired differential pressure setpoint and all other settings can be adjusted via Modbus RTU communication. After writing the desired setpoint into Modbus Holding register 25, the CAV controller will automatically adjust the damper position and maintain the differential pressure constant. An overview of the complete Modbus register map (all adjustable settings) can be downloaded on top of this page. damper with controller

Cloud connection for remote control
The ACDPH CAV controller can work stand alone, it can be integrated in a Modbus RTU network or it can be connected to SenteraWeb - the online HVAC portal. When connected to SenteraWeb, it is possible to remotely control and monitor the CAV controller. SenteraWeb has a day-week scheduler to define different regimes during certain moments in the week. When the differential pressure goes out of range, alerts and notifications can be sent to different users.

Built-in actuator with CAV controller
The damper is made of high-quality r-ABS plastic. This material is exceptionally heat resistant, very tough and offers good protection against impacts. The metal damper blade is protected against corrosion. The actuator and CAV controller are seamlessly integrated in the damper. This minimizes mechanical frictions and allows us to align all mechanic components in an optimal way.

Интересное решение интегрировать сенсор в устройство. И в целом я считаю что это отличный способ контролировать темпераутру и влажность разных помещений независимо друг от друга. Также очень понравился аккуратный дизайн устройства.
