EU declaration conformity
Circular CAV controller | 125 mm
Product description
Function: It's a motorized damper with a built-in differential pressure controller that automatically adjusts to maintain a constant airflow in a circular duct.
Precision: As a motorized controller, it offers more precise control and can be operated remotely.
Specifications: It's designed for 125 mm ducts, is powered by a 24 VDC (PoM) supply, and can regulate airflows from 0 to 10 m/s.
Airtightness: The damper blade has Class 4 airtightness and the enclosure is Class D, according to EN 1751, ensuring minimal air leakage for better efficiency and less noise.
Configuration: Settings like the setpoint and minimum/maximum damper positions can be adjusted using Modbus RTU communication.
Applications: It's used in various settings, including hospitals, laboratories, and cleanrooms, to provide specific airflow to different zones.

Additional specifications and description
This circular motorized damper has an integrated pressure controller. The damper blade position is automatically controlled to maintain differential pressure (air volume flow or air velocity) constant at the desired setpoint. In case of strongly fluctuating demand for fresh air in the different rooms of a building, this control valve can guarantee a constant air supply in a certain room. Airflow has a significant impact both on the quality of the air we breathe and on our comfort. Proper airflow provides ventilation, i.e. brings fresh whilst removing stale air, thus the levels of indoor air pollutants, such as volatile organic compounds (VOCs), carbon monoxide, and other harmful gases are minimized. This is also called a CAV (Constant Air Volume) controller. The setpoint can be adjusted via Modbus RTU communication or via the SenteraWeb cloud platform.
This circular damper can be used in combination with standard circular ducts with a diameter of 125 mm. The circular ducts can be inserted inside the damper. To guarantee the airtightness of the system, the transition between duct and damper must be sealed with aluminum tape. The damper does not cause extra air resistance because the ducts can be slid into the damper. This increases the efficiency of the complete system. Resistance and pressure drops are reduced to the absolute minimum. As a result, the energy consumption of the fans will be significantly lower.
Modbus RTU communication and 24 VDC supply voltage can be connected via one UTP cable - we call it Power over Modbus or PoM. To facilitate wiring, we recommend to use the Sentera 24 VDC power supplies with RJ45 connector. These power supplies offer protection against short circuit, overload and overvoltage. A 24 VDC supply voltage increases the safety and reliability of your installation. This CAV controller can also be connected via the terminal block. Make sure not to connect the supply voltage via the terminal block and via the RJ45 socket simultaneously! The desired differential pressure setpoint and all other settings can be adjusted via Modbus RTU communication. After writing the desired setpoint into Modbus Holding register 25, the CAV controller will automatically adjust the damper position and maintain the differential pressure constant. An overview of the complete Modbus register map (all adjustable settings) can be downloaded on top of this page.
