Product description

This HVAC room transmitter measures temperature, relative humidity, and ambient light level. The dew point is calculated using the temperature and humidity measurements. The voltage of the power supply is 24 V DC. The supply voltage can be connected via the terminal blocks or via the RJ45 connector. The measured values are transmitted via the three analogue outputs and via Modbus RTU communication. The output type can be selected via Modbus RTU: 0-10 VDC / 0-20 mA / 0-100 % PWM.

In many applications, the ambient light sensor can be used to control the ventilation system based on the number of people in the room. All of the settings can be changed using Modbus RTU. The light intensity of the LEDs used for status indication, for example, can be adjusted.

Additional specifications and description

What is the purpose of measuring temperature and relative humidity?
The sense of well-being and comfort of residents is directly affected by temperature and relative humidity. Dry air causes dry skin and itchy eyes. Excessive relative humidity causes condensation to form on colder-than-air windows, walls, and ceilings, potentially damaging building materials and causing odors in poorly ventilated spaces.

How does it work?
The RSTHH-3 measures temperature, relative humidity, and ambient light. The dew point is calculated using the temperature and humidity measurements. The sensor has three analogue outputs. Each of them transmits one of the measured values (temperature or humidity). The default setting for output 1, for example, will transmit 0 V at 0 °C and 10 V at 50 °C. Each output value changes in proportion to the measured temperature and/or relative humidity. By default, output 1 provides the measured temperature, and output 2 provides the relative humidity. Output 3 can transmit temperature or relative humidity but is disabled by default. The three outputs have an overwrite function that can be activated via Modbus RTU. When activated, for instance at night, the ventilation will be controlled based on the data mentioned in the relevant Modbus registers rather than measured temperature or humidity.

Local visualisation
This HVAC transmitter offers a clear, visual indication of the temperature via the green, yellow and red LED. The green LED indicates that temperature is within range. When the temperature enters the alert range, the yellow LED lights up. Red denotes extreme heat or cold. It is also possible to visualise relative humidity via the LEDs. The measured temperature and relative humidity are available via the analogue outputs and via Modbus RTU. The dew point and ambient light level are available via Modbus RTU.

4-wire connection
You can connect this sensor using either the cage clamp terminal blocks or the RJ45 connector. The RJ45 connector can be used to connect power and Modbus RTU communication. The outputs, Modbus RTU communication, and supply voltage can all be connected using the terminal blocks. Never connect the supply voltage through the RJ45 connector and the terminal blocks at the same time. The supply voltage is 24 V DC. The ground terminals of the power supply (V-) and output (GND) are not connected internally. This means that connecting this sensor will necessitate the use of a 4-wire cable. Most 24 V DC power supplies include short-circuit, overload, and overvoltage protection. A supply voltage of 24 V DC improves the safety and reliability of your installation.

Surface mounting How to install humidity sensor
This sensor can be mounted on a wall or a surface indoors. The mounting holes are designed to accommodate standard European wall mounting boxes. Two screws are required to secure the sensor to the wall mounting box. The sensor enclosure will completely enclose the wall mounting box.

Easy to use
This sensor requires only little configuration. Once installed, it is almost ready to use. Temperature and relative humidity are frequently affected by region and season. These parameters are still set to the correct values during installation. The other default settings, on the other hand, will work with the majority of applications. They can still be changed if necessary by using the corresponding Modbus registers. To make the sensor compatible with other devices, for example, a different output type can be selected: 0-10 VDC, 0-20 mA, 0-100% PWM, and Modbus RTU. The brightness of the LEDs used for status indication can also be adjusted. The Modbus register map provides an exhaustive list of all programmable settings.

Superior quality
This HVAC transmitter was made in Europe. In our factory, each sensor is calibrated and tested. We use high-quality sensor elements and components. This ensures the HVAC transmitter's long-term stability and accuracy. The enclosure meets IP30 dust and moisture resistance standards. To ensure peak performance, keep it out of direct sunlight.

Remarks, reviews & ratings

Funguje dobře, ale mohlo by mít displej, kde vidíte naměřené parametry, ale alespoň jsou zde LEDky, které indikují stav naměřených parametrů. Komunikace Modbus RTU je hodně užitečná.
