Product description
This smart sensor is a versatile device that measures temperature, relative humidity, air quality (TVOC), and ambient light levels.
It operates on a flexible power supply of either 24 VAC or 24 VDC. The sensor's built-in algorithm uses these measurements to control a single output for managing an EC fan, AC fan speed controller, or damper actuator.
The output signal is selectable, with a default of 0-10 V, and all measurements and settings, including the light intensity of the status LEDs, are fully adjustable via Modbus RTU communication. The TVOC sensor element is replaceable, which simplifies maintenance.
The ambient light sensor allows for occupancy-based ventilation control.
The enclosure has an IP20 protection rating, providing durability against dust and moisture.

What is TVOC and How Does the Sensor Indicate Air Quality?
TVOC or Total Volatile Organic Compounds evaporate from substances such as cleaning products, adhesives, paints, etc. TVOCs are also emitted from humans and animals. That is why a TVOC sensor provides a good, overall image of air quality. TVOC sensors are the best choice to control a ventilation system in residential environments. This HVAC transmitter offers a clear, visual indication of the air quality via the green, yellow and red LED. The green LED indicates that the TVOC level is within range - there is sufficient fresh air supply. When the TVOC level enters the alert range, the yellow LED lights up. Red means: TVOC out of range or insufficient fresh air supply. The measured temperature, relative humidity, TVOC and ambient light level are available via Modbus RTU.
How Does the Sensor Control the HVAC System?
The output of this sensor can control an EC fan, an AC fan speed controller or a damper actuator. The output value varies proportionally in function of the measured temperature, humidity and TVOC concentration. When more fresh air is required, the sensor will increase the fan speed or open the damper.
What Are the Sensor's Power Supply and Wiring Requirements?
The cage clamp terminal blocks reduce wiring and installation time. They eliminate the need for routine maintenance and guarantee a reliable contact for solid or stranded wires. This sensor can be supplied with 24 VDC or with 24 VAC. It is intended for 3-wire connection. The ground of the output (GND) is internally connected to the ground of the supply voltage (V-). Make sure not to connect this common ground to other devices that are powered by a DC voltage.
This sensor doesn't require any configuration. Once installed, it is ready to use. The default settings will do for most applications. If necessary, the settings can be adjusted via Modbus RTU. For example, a different output type can be selected to make it compatible with other devices: 0-10 VDC / 0-20 mA / 0-100 % PWM / Modbus RTU. Also the light intensity of the LEDs for status indication is adjustable. The Modbus register map provides a complete overview of all adjustable settings.
How Are the Sensor's Calibration, Durability, and Mounting Performed?
Each sensor is calibrated and tested in our factory. In the unlikely event of TVOC sensor element failure, this module can be replaced. We use sensor elements and components of high quality. This ensures the long-term stability and accuracy of this HVAC transmitter. The enclosure offers an IP30 protection against ingress of dust and moisture. It can be mounted on a wall indoors. To ensure optimal performance, it should be protected from direct sunlight.
