The RSTHX-3 series is a room sensor that measures temperature, relative humidity, and ambient light.

It offers selectable temperature and humidity ranges.

Flexible Output and Communication: It transmits values via three analog outputs (0-10V default, adjustable) and Modbus RTU.
All settings are accessible via Modbus RTU (RS485).

It operates on 24 VDC.

Smart Lighting and Control: with an ambient light sensor, it can control ventilation based on occupancy.
It features adjustable "active" and "standby" light levels. The light intensity of the status indicator LEDs can be adjusted.

It is ideal for HVAC applications, residential, and commercial buildings.
It is for indoor use only.

Operating temperature: 0—50 °C
Humidity: 0—95% rH (non-condensing)

Why do we measure temperature and relative humidity? 
Temperature and relative humidity have a significant impact on human comfort and well-being. Dry air can lead to physical irritation and discomfort. Excessive relative humidity, on the other hand, results in condensation on windows, walls, and ceilings that are cooler than the air, potentially damaging building materials and causing unpleasant odours in poorly ventilated spaces. 
 
How is the Sensor Mounted and What are its Power and Wiring Requirements?
Wall mounting box
Sensor intended for mounting on a wall or flat surface indoorsMounting holes accommodate standard European wall mounting boxes. Two screws are required to secure the sensor to the wall mounting box. The sensor enclosure will completely enclose the wall mounting box. 
The supply voltage is 24 V DC, intended for 4-wire connectionAs the ground terminals of the power supply (V-) and output (GND) are not connected internally, a 4-wire cable is required to connect this sensor. Cage clamp terminal blocks reduce wiring and installation time. They eliminate the need for routine maintenance and guarantee a reliable contact for solid or stranded wires. 
 
What Parameters Does This Room Sensor Measure, and How are Its Outputs Configured?
Room sensor for measuring temperature, relative humidity and ambient lightLittle configuration is required, the sensor can be used almost immediately once it has been installed. Temperature and relative humidity are frequently affected by region and season. These parameters are set to the correct values during installation.
The sensor has three analogue outputsThe three outputs have an overwrite function that can be activated via Modbus RTU. Output type is set to 0-10 V by default, but different output types are available, including 0-10 VDC, 0-20 mA, 0-100% PWM, or Modbus RTU. One of the measured values (temperature / humidity) is transmitted by each of them. For instance, output 1's default setting will transmit 0 V at 0 °C and 10 V at 50 °C. In proportion to the measured temperature and / or relative humidity, each output value changes. 
A clear, visual indication of the temperature is offered via the green, yellow and red LED. The green LED shows that the temperature lies within range. The yellow LED turns on when the temperature enters the alert range. The red LED indicates extreme heat or cold. The LEDs can also be used to display relative humidity. The analogue outputs and Modbus RTU both provide access to the measured temperature and relative humidity. Dew point is calculated using the measured values and is accessible through Modbus RTU. Ambient light sensor can be used in applications to control the ventilation system based on the occupancy of the room. The ambient light level is accessible through Modbus RTU. Light intensity of the LEDs used for status indication can be adjusted.
