This analogue to Modbus converter is equipped with 8 analog inputs that are configurable through the Modbus RTU protocol.

4 out of the 8 inputs can be set to support the following types: 0-10 VDC, 0-20 mA or 0-100% PWM signals. The remaining 4 inputs can be configured to handle 0-10 VDC and 0-20 mA signals.

The analogue input data is transmitted to Modbus RTU Input Registers.

The module is powered by a 24 VDC Power over Modbus (PoM) supply, which means that both the power source and Modbus RTU communication are established through the RJ45 socket.

This module is designed for easy installation on a DIN rail within an electrical cabinet.

How does it function?
Sentera devices establish communication among themselves using the Modbus RTU communication protocol, which operates over RS485 technology. In some cases, there is a need to communicate with non-Sentera products, such as damper actuators, EC fans, etc. These external devices can be seamlessly connected through the DADCM-08 module.
External devices have the capability to transmit information through the 8 analogue inputs provided by this module. The default input type for these inputs is 0-10 VDC. However, the input type is adjustable via the Modbus RTU protocol. Specifically, for 4 out of the 8 analogue inputs you have the flexibility to select from the following options: 0-10 VDC, 0-20 mA or 0-100% PWM, while the remaining 4 inputs can be configured to either 0-10 VDC or 0-20 mA input signals.
The values of the incoming analog input signals are converted into values stored across 8 Modbus Input Registers. These input registers can be read by a Modbus Master device. 

Modbus RTU 

Modbus RTU over RS485 is a widely used serial communication protocol. It represents a method for transmitting data between devices over a serial communication network using RS485 technology. Modbus RTU is commonly employed in industrial and automation applications to facilitate the exchange of information between various devices, such as sensors, controllers, and actuators, in a reliable and standardized manner.
The DADCM-08 analogue to Modbus converter is a device that enables the integration of analogue signals into a Modbus communication network. It allows analogue signals from sensors or other devices to be converted into digital Modbus registers for monitoring and control purposes. The converter interfaces with analogue input signals, digitizes them and communicates the digital data over the Modbus protocol. 
The converter communicates with other Modbus devices or a Modbus master using the Modbus protocol. It typically acts as a Modbus Slave device, allowing data to be read or written through Modbus function codes.DADCM-08 convertor

Facilitated wiring 
The Modbus RTU communication and the 24 VDC power supply for this module are both established through the RJ45 socket. The wiring is done using standard Ethernet cable. Alternatively, you can crimp your own cable with an RJ45 connector. It is important to note that the use of a 24 VDC Power over Modbus (PoM) supply requires adherence to the appropriate power and wiring standards to ensure safe and reliable operation. 
The unit features two RJ75 sockets – one for PoM and another for connection to other Modbus modules. 
For supplying the converter, we have a specially developed DIN rail mounted 24 VDC power supply module.  
The analogue input signals are connected intuitively.   

LED indications
The unit enclosure features three green LED indicators on its enclosure – for power on, data transmission and data reception. As standard, each of the two RJ45 sockets features two green LEDs. When blinking, they indicate active Modbus RTU communication.

DIN rail enclosure 
DIN rail enclosures are designed for mounting and protecting electronic or electrical components on a DIN rail within an electrical cabinet or control panel. DIN rail enclosures are commonly used in industrial and automation settings to secure and organize various devices. They are designed to be compact and easy to install and the enclosure of the DADCM-08 is no exception of the rule. 
To guarantee its quality, we design and manufacture the enclosure ourselves in our own factory. It is durable, its installation is very simple – just mount the device onto the rail and lock it using the clip at the bottom of the device.
The ingress protection rating of the enclosure is IP30 – protected from dirt and dust. The material used is high-quality PC-ABS plastic blend combining toughness and heat-resistance offered by PC with the ductility and processability offered by ABS.

We gebruiken deze om onze analoge sensoren (maakt niet uit welk merk) toch te kunnen uitlezen met onze PLC. Veel goedkoper dan I/O poorten.
