HVAC Potentiometer | 5-24 VDC supply
Product description
The SDP-E0US-BT is a potentiometer for precise control of ventilation systems. It works with a supply voltage of 5-24 VDC and controls devices like EC fans, damper actuators, and frequency inverters.
Key features include:
Variable Control: A rotary knob provides continuous and variable control.
No OFF-Position: Unlike some models, this device lacks an OFF-position to prevent accidental shutdowns.
Customizable Range: The high and low signal levels can be adjusted with internal trimmers, and the output can be inverted for flexible control.
Durable: It has a splash-proof enclosure and can be mounted either inset (IP44) or on the surface (IP54).

Additional specifications and description
What does this potentiometer control?
This potentiometer generates an analogue output or control signal to control other devices such as an EC fan or a fan speed controller. The control signal (potentiometer output) increases or decreases according to the position of the rotary knob. This control signal can directly control EC fans or damper actuators. It can also remotely control AC fan speed controllers (such as Sentera’s EVS or MVS series) or frequency inverters (FI-E series).
For instance, this potentiometer can be installed in the living room while the fan speed controller can be located in a technical room or an electrical cabinet.
Why adjust the limits of the control signal?
For some applications, it is desirable to adjust the low limit and the high limit of the control signal. Some EC motors or damper actuators cannot handle control signals that are too low. The low limit of the control signal can be adjusted via a built-in minimum adjustment trimmer. Sometimes, a fan is over dimensioned. In this case, the high limit of the control signal can be reduced via the maximum adjustment trimmer. This will limit the maximum fan speed.
How is the output mode selected?
The output mode is selected manually using a jumper that is placed onto the header pins. If put on pins 1 and 2, the output mode is voltage; if placed onto pins 2 and 3, it is current; if connected to pins 3 and 4, it is PWM.

What are the limits of the control signal?
The high and low levels are adjustable via two trimmers. Both minimum and maximum output level can be adjusted in the range of 0 - 100 % of the supply voltage. The supply voltage must be in the range of 5 - 24 VDC. This makes it possible to inverse the control output. If the minimum output level is set lower than the maximum output level, the potentiometer will work from minimum to maximum. This is the default factory setting. If the minimum output level is set higher than the maximum output level, the potentiometer will work from maximum to minimum. For example, if your minimum is set to 20 % of the supply voltage (Us) and the maximum is set to 80 % of the supply voltage, you control from minimum to maximum. Then, you will control within 20 - 80 % of the supply voltage (Us). However, if the minimum adjustment setting is 80 % Us and the maximum is 40 %, you will control from maximum to minimum. There is always 20 % minimum control range between the values set by the trimmers.
What does the OFF position do?
In some occasions, it is technically or legally required to ensure a minimum air supply in all circumstances. Since this potentiometer does not have an OFF position, the control signal will never reach 0 V. Even when the rotary knob is at minimum position (turned counter clockwise), the control signal will be at minimum value. This low level can be adjusted via the built-in trimmer.
