TVOC sensor | wall mounting | LED indicators, 24 VDC

Product description

Indoor Air Quality sensor to measure temperature, relative humidity, air quality (TVOC) and ambient light. The typical use is in commercial and residential HVAC applications. The supply voltage is 24 VDC. The measured values are transmitted via three analogue outputs and via Modbus RTU communication. The default output type is 0-10 V. Different output types can be selected. The TVOC sensor element is replaceable. In many applications, the ambient light sensor can be used to control the ventilation system in function of the occupancy of the room. All settings can be adjusted via Modbus RTU. Also the light intensity of the LEDs for status indication is adjustable.

Additional specifications and description

How to measure indoor air quality?
TVOC or Total Volatile Organic Compounds evaporate from substances such as cleaning products, adhesives, paints, etc. TVOCs are also emitted from humans and animals. That is why a TVOC sensor provides a good, overall image of air quality. TVOC sensors are the best choice to control a ventilation system in residential environments.

Visual indication of the air quality
This HVAC transmitter offers a clear, visual indication of the TVOC level via the green, yellow and red LED. The green LED indicates that the TVOC level is within range - there is sufficient ventilation. When the TVOC level enters the alert range, the yellow LED lights up. Red means: TVOC out of range or insufficient ventilation. The measured temperature, relative humidity and TVOC level are available via the three analogue outputs and via Modbus RTU. Ambient light level is available via Modbus RTU.

How does it work?
This sensor has three analogue outputs. Each of them transmits one of the measured values. E.g. by default, output 1 will transmit 0 V at 0 °C and 10 V at 50 °C. Each output value varies proportionally in function of the measured temperature, humidity or TVOC concentration. The measured temperature is available via output 1, relative humidity via output 2 and TVOC concentration via output 3.

Easy to use!
This sensor doesn't require configuration. Once installed, it is ready to use. The default settings will do for most applications. If necessary, these settings can be adjusted via Modbus RTU. For example, a different output type can be selected to make it compatible with other devices: 0-10 VDC / 0-20 mA / 0-100 % PWM. Also the light intensity of the LEDs for status indication is adjustable.  The Modbus register map provides a complete overview of all adjustable settings.

4-wire connection
The supply voltage is 24 VDC. The ground terminals of the power supply (V-) and output (GND) are internally not connected. This means that a 4-wire cable is required to connect this sensor. Most 24 VDC power supplies offer protection against short circuit, overload and overvoltage. A 24 VDC supply voltage increases the safety and reliability of your installation

High quality
Each sensor is calibrated and tested in our factory. In the unlikely event of TVOC sensor element failure, this module can be replaced. We use sensor elements and components of high quality. This ensures the long-term stability and accuracy of this HVAC transmitter. The enclosure offers an IP30 protection against ingress of dust and moisture. It can be mounted on a wall indoors. To ensure optimal performance, it should be protected from direct sunlight.
