Temperature | humidity sensor wall mounting, PoM

Product description

HVAC room sensor to measure temperature, relative humidity and ambient light level. Based on the measured values, the dew point is calculated. The supply voltage is 24 VDC PoM. This means that Modbus RTU communication and 24 VDC power supply can be connected via one RJ45 connector. The measured values are transmitted via Modbus RTU communication. In many applications, the ambient light sensor can be used to control the ventilation system in function of the occupancy of the room. All settings can be adjusted via Modbus RTU. Also the light intensity of the LEDs for status indication is adjustable.

Additional specifications and description

Why to measure temperature and relative humidity?
Temperature and relative humidity have a direct impact on the sense of well-being and comfort of the residents. Dry air leads to dry skin and itchy eyes. Too high relative humidity degrees will result in condensation forming on windows, walls and ceilings that are colder than the air temperature and potentially damaging building materials and causing odors in poorly ventilated spaces.

How does it work?
This sensor measures temperature, relative humidity and ambient light level. Based on these measurements, the dew point temperature is calculated. The LED indicators offer a clear, visual indication of the temperature. The green LED indicates that temperature is within range. When the temperature enters the alert range, the yellow LED lights up. Red means: too hot or too cold. It is also possible to visualize relative humidity via the LEDs. The measured temperature, relative humidity, the dew point and ambient light level are available via Modbus RTU.

Surface mounting How to install a room sensor
This sensor can be installed indoors on a wall or on a surface. The mounting holes are adapted to standard European wall mounting boxes. The sensor can be attached to the wall mounting box with two screws. The sensor enclosure will cover the entire wall mounting box.

Reduced installation time
One RJ45 connector is all it takes to connect this sensor! Modbus RTU communication and 24 VDC power supply are connected via one cable - we call it Power over Modbus or PoM. All measured values are available via Modbus RTU communication. To facilitate wiring, we recommend to use the Sentera 24 VDC power supplies with RJ45 connector. These power supplies offer protection against short circuit, overload and overvoltage. A 24 VDC supply voltage increases the safety and reliability of your installation.

Easy to use!
This sensor doesn't require any configuration. Once installed, it is ready to use. The default settings will do for most applications. If necessary, the settings can be adjusted via Modbus RTU. For example, the temperature or relative humidity range can be adjusted via Modbus RTU. Also the light intensity of the LEDs for status indication is adjustable. The Modbus register map provides a complete overview of all adjustable settings.

High quality
This HVAC transmitter is manufactured in Europe. Each sensor is calibrated and tested in our factory. We use sensor elements and components of high quality. This ensures the long-term stability and accuracy of this HVAC transmitter. The enclosure offers an IP30 protection against ingress of dust and moisture. It can be mounted on a wall indoors. To ensure optimal performance, it should be protected from direct sunlight.
