The RCTHH-2 is a smart room sensor designed for optimizing indoor climate control. It measures both temperature (0–50 °C) and relative humidity (0–95% rH). The sensor controls a single analogue/modulating output based on these measurements, allowing for direct control of an EC fan, AC fan speed controller, or a damper with an actuator.

It offers adjustable temperature and humidity ranges and includes an ambient light sensor with adjustable "active" and "standby" levels. The device is powered by a 24 VDC supply and provides flexible installation options with either spring contact terminal blocks or an RJ45 connection.

All parameters are accessible via Modbus RTU communication. The sensor also features three LEDs with adjustable light intensity for status indication and has an IP30 protection standard, making it a smart and integrated solution for a variety of indoor climate control applications.

Which parameters are measured and why is it important?
This room controller measures and regulates temperature, relative humidity and ambient light.
Temperature and relative humidity (RH) play a major role in human comfort and the sense of well-being. These parameters are continuously influencing each other. Monitoring and balancing both temperature and relative humidity (and/or dew point) is therefore essential for maintaining stable indoor conditions, preventing condensation, and improving overall comfort and health. Most Sentera sensors and controllers measure both temperature and relative humidity for complete climate control.
 
What are the configuration and customisation options?
This controller requires little configuration and can be used almost immediately once it has been installed. Temperature and relative humidity can vary depending on the region and season, these parameters are set to the correct values during installation. The other default settings are typically suitable for most applications, however, they can also be adjusted, if necessary. The Modbus register map provides a complete overview of all adjustable settings. 
The controller has a single analogue/modulating control algorithm based on measured values, which can directly control an EC fan, an AC fan speed controller, or a damper actuator. The output value changes in direct proportion to the measured temperature or relative humidity. A different output type can be selected to make it compatible with other devices: 0–10 VDC, 0–20 mA, 0–100%, PWM, or Modbus RTU.
The measured value is visually indicated by the green, yellow and red LED light. The green LED indicates that the parameter is within range, yellow signals an alert range, and red indicates extreme values. The light intensity of the LEDs used for status indication can be adjusted.

How is the controller installed, and what are the power and connectivity requirements?
The controller is intended for mounting on a wall or flat surface indoors.
This controller can be connected using the spring contact terminal blocks or the RJ45 connector. Via the terminal blocks it is possible to connect the outputs, Modbus RTU communication and the supply voltage. Via the RJ45 connector the supply voltage and Modbus RTU communication can be connected. Never connect the supply voltage via the RJ45 connector and the terminal blocks simultaneously. 
The supply voltage is 24 VDC. The ground terminals of the power supply (V-) and output (GND) are not connected internally. This means that a 4-wire cable is required to connect this sensor. A 24 VDC supply voltage increases the safety and reliability of your installation, by offering protection against short circuit, overload and overvoltage.
