Variable fan speed controller 4 A | From High to Low
Product description
This controller is designed for single-phase motors and offers precise motor voltage and speed regulation using TRIAC and phase angle control technology. You can also adjust the minimum speed via an internal trimmer.
For continuous operation, the OFF position can be deactivated. The controller also includes an extra unregulated 230 VAC output for additional functionality.
With an IP54 rating for wall-mounting and an IP44 rating for built-in installation, this controller provides flexible mounting options with different levels of protection.

How Does This Controller Provide Stepless Fan Speed Regulation?
This residential fan speed controller has been developed to regulate motor speed steplessly from high to low using a single button — the rotary knob. When it is in the OFF position, the motor is disabled, while by turning the knob clockwise the motor is enabled at maximum speed. Turning it further in the clockwise direction slows the motor down to the minimum speed setting. To set the minimum motor speed you can use the internal trimmer. If necessary, you can deactivate the OFF position and the motor will operate when the power supply is detected. If you choose to have the OFF position disabled, simply connect the supply voltage via terminals intended for the unregulated output.
What Are the Key Features and Benefits of the MTXN0 Series?
The MTXN0 series are manually operated stepless room speed controllers. They are a solid and simple solution thanks to their long service life. In residential environments, it is important that the motor does not produce too much noise. That is why the MTXN0 features an internal trimmer to adjust the minimum motor speed within the range 20—70 % of the supply voltage. Its purpose is to avoid motor stalling and excessive noise at low speed and optimise fan speed for your ventilation system.
What Are the Installation Options and Requirements?
This fan speed controller is suitable for surface mounting and can be installed onto all kinds of walls – solid walls, gypsum board or wooden panels. All you need is a couple of every day tools – screwdrivers and pliers, a little bit of general knowledge and handiness.
What Motor Types Are Compatible and How Is Speed Regulated?
The MTXN0 series is intended for control of AC fans by reducing the motor voltage. AC fans run on an alternating current and convert alternating current into mechanical power. The MTXN0 series reduce the voltage via phase angle control. The controllers are suitable only for voltage controllable motors. If you are not sure about the type of your motor, we strongly advise on contacting the fan manufacturer or reading carefully its accompanying documentation.
How Does the Unregulated Output Function and What Are Its Applications?
The series features an unregulated output used to control external devices such as a damper, relay, run indicator, etc. If you connect the supply voltage as standard and as advised by the relevant documentation, the unregulated output of your controller will be active when the motor is enabled. This means that when the fan stops, the connected external device will be disabled — the damper will be closed or the run indicator will go out. While the fan works, the damper will be open and the indicator light will be on. Because this output is ON (230 Volt) or OFF (0 Volt), it is called ‘unregulated' and its maximum current is 2 A.
What Are the Design and Durability Features of the Enclosure?
The enclosure of the series is made of high-quality white ASA plastic, which is UV resistant and of high ingress protection rating — IP54 for surface mounting. This means it provides protection against ingress of dust, dirt and water in indoor applications. You can easily clean it using only a damp towel.
