The RDCZ is a digital fan speed controller intended for precise control of AC fans in residential buildings. It features a modern design with an intuitive three-button interface and a LED display.
The controller uses Triac technology and is compatible with single-phase AC fans with a maximum current of 1.5 A.
Fan speed is manually adjusted via a simple three-button interface and the output can be continuously variable or divided in 2 to 10 equal steps, with adjustable minimum and maximum values.
The controller supports Modbus RTU communication and operates on a supply voltage of 110 to 230 VAC.
The modern white enclosure supports both surface and flush mounting.
The RDCZ offers a reliable and efficient solution for residential ventilation systems where straightforward AC fan control is required.

How does the controller operate?
The motor can operate in two acceleration modes: softstart or kickstart. In softstart mode, the motor accelerates smoothly to reach the selected fan speed. In kickstart mode, the motor initially starts at full speed and then slows down to the set fan speed after a few seconds, providing an immediate start when needed.
The output value can be manually adjusted using the up and down arrow buttons. The selected output level is displayed on the 7-segment LED, either as a percentage or a step number, depending on the configuration. The output signal can be set to operate continuously or in 2 to 10 discrete steps.
Pressing the select button with the green check mark for four seconds activates or deactivates the potentiometer.
How does the controller utilize Modbus RTU communication?
The RDCZ controller supports Modbus RTU communication, allowing full control and configuration via the free 3SModbus software. All functions available on the controller’s keyboard interface are duplicated in the Modbus RTU holding registers, giving complete access to the set of features from a computer.
How and where can the controller be mounted?
The enclosure supports both surface and flush mounting. When flush-mounted in a wall, the controller offers IP44 protection against dust and dirt ingress. For surface mounting, the protection level is IP54.
The RDCZ can be installed on solid walls, gypsum board, or wooden panels. For flush mounting, the mounting holes are compatible with standard European wall boxes. Installation only requires basic tools such as screwdrivers and pliers, along with some general knowledge and handiness.
