Product description

A calendar feature is included into this 5-step fan speed controller. It controls single-phase motors. The maximum current (combined) is 13 A.

The speed of an AC fan is controlled by lowering the voltage of the motor via autotransformer technology. This method produces a motor voltage with a perfect sinusoidal form, ensuring silent motor running.

There are two ideal motor speeds to choose from. The timer with day-week program has the ability to flip between them.

In the event of overheating, the TK monitoring feature deactivates the motor. The motor will automatically resume after a power outage.

Surface mounting is possible in indoor environments (IP54).

Additional specifications and description

The ST2R1, designed for single-phase AC motors, combines both versatility and user-friendliness. It incorporates advanced features, including thermal protection, alarm outputs, and automatic restart, rendering it suitable for a wide array of applications. It is tailored to manage the rotational speed of voltage-controllable motors (230 V, 50/60 Hz), such as fans and pumps.

Voltage control via autotransformers
The ST2R1 employs autotransformers to step down motor voltage through preset voltage levels (80-100-120-150-170-190-230 VAC). This method guarantees a smooth sinusoidal waveform, delivering quiet motor operation and prolonging the service life of the regulated motor. During setup, you can select high and low speeds from the available output voltages, and the high and low speed operation times can be programmed using the built-in clock, enabling precise control, including day and night variations.

Silent operation
To ensure that the controller operates silently, special impregnation material coats the autotransformers incorporate in the device.

User-friendly interface
The speed controller is furnished with a keyboard and display, facilitating its configuration as an autonomous unit. It has a multilingual menu in English, French, German and Dutch.

Computer connectivity
Equipped with a USB port, the controller allows for connection to a computer. The downloadable 3SMUsb software from Sentera enables the reading, modification, and storage of device parameters. It can be downloaded for free from the website of Sentera.

Calendar function
The ST2R1 incorporates a built-in day-week timer, permitting the setup of two optimal speeds. You can establish day/night or day/week variations and program them for the entire year. The controller supports configuring on/off times, high and low speeds, and exceptions for holidays.transfomer controller in steel housing with keys and display

Remote control
The controller is equipped with 2 dry contacts, enabling remote activation and deactivation via a switch or thermostat.

Motor thermal protection
The ST2R1 can oversee motor thermal contacts (TK) to prevent overheating and resultant damage. If your motor does not feature TK contacts, bridging them can simulate normal motor temperature.

Alarm output
The controller includes an alarm output that activates when thermal protection disables the device, and this output can be wired to an audible or visual alarm.

Automatic restart
Following a power outage, the ST2R1 autonomously restarts without necessitating manual intervention.

Unregulated output
Apart from the regulated motor output, the controller provides an unregulated 230 VAC output for other applications, with a maximum current of 2 A. This output can serve purposes such as controlling gas valves or supplementary lighting.

Durable metal enclosure
The housing of the ST2R1, constructed from sheet steel with a powder coating, is designed for models above 7,5 A. These enclosures are intended for wall mounting and offer IP54-rated protection against dust and moisture.

Installation requirements
During installation, adherence to specific requirements is vital to ensure proper functionality and safety. Mount the controller securely in a vertical position on a stable surface to facilitate adequate airflow and cooling of internal components. Ensure sufficient ventilation is provided around the controller to prevent overheating. Place the controller in an environment with a reasonable ambient temperature, away from heat sources and direct sunlight. Secure and shield wiring appropriately. Take into account environmental factors such as moisture, dust, or corrosive materials, and use suitable enclosures or covers for added protection.
