Duct temperature humidity TVOC sensor - 24 VDC PoM supply


This is a multifunctional duct transmitter. It measures temperature, relative humidity and air quality. The supply voltage is 24 VDC PoM - this means that Modbus RTU communication and 24 VDC power supply can be connected via one RJ45 connector. The measured values are transmitted via Modbus RTU communication. The TVOC sensor element is replaceable. All settings can be adjusted via Modbus RTU.

This solution controls AC fans with single-phase motor. The maximum motor current is 1,5 A. The fan speed is controlled in function of the air quality. The RTVS1 transformer fan speed controller regulates the motor speed in steps. Forward or reverse mode can be selected. The HVAC transmitter receives 24 VDC supply voltage via the RTVS1 controller. All settings can be adjusted via Modbus RTU. With this solution, it is also possible to fan speed in function of temperature or relative humidity. In general, the difference is the supply voltage: -M version: The –M versions are Power over Modbus supplied with 24 VDC via an RJ45 socket. They do not feature a physical out, however, there is an output value generated and read via Modbus RTU. When combining multiple Sentera products via Modbus RTU, we advise to use –M or -F series. -F version: The –F version is supplied with 18 - 34 VDC via a terminal block and features physical outputs. The -F version of the product is not suited for 3-wire connection. It has separate grounds for power supply and analogue output. Connecting both grounds together might result in incorrect measurements. Minimum 4 wires are required to connect -F type sensors. When combining multiple Sentera products via Modbus RTU, we advise to use –M or -F series. -H version: The –H version is a combination of –M and –F series. They can be supplied via Power over Modbus (24 VDC via an RJ45 socket) or via the terminal block, whichever the customer prefers. The –H series also features physical outputs via the terminal blocks. -G version: The –G version features 18 – 34 VDC or 15 – 24 VAC. The -G version is intended for 3-wire connection and features a ‘common ground’. This means that the ground of the analogue output is internally connected with the ground of the power supply. In case a Sentera sensor will be connected to other, non-Sentera branded products, we advise to use –G series.
VOC or Volatile organic compounds are known to cause eye, nose and throat irritations, headache, drowsiness, dizziness, nausea, difficulty concentrating and fatigue. VOC in indoor environments evaporate from substances such as cleaning products, adhesives, paints, new carpets, copiers and printers to building materials and furnishings. VOC are also emitted from humans and animals in their breath, sweat and directly from their skin. Therefore, it is important to monitor the VOC levels and to extract the contaminated air from the area. TVOC or Total Volatile Organic Compounds correspond to the sum of the different VOCs in an air sample. TVOC gives a more correct picture of the air quality, since it does not measure a single compound, but the sum of all individual VOCs.
