Solution description

Temperature humidity control for AC fans with single-phase motor. The maximum motor current is 5 A. The fan speed is controlled in function of relative humidity. The RTVS1 transformer fan speed controller regulates the motor speed in steps. Forward or reverse mode can be selected. The HVAC transmitter receives 24 VDC supply voltage via the RTVS1 controller. All settings can be adjusted via Modbus RTU. With this solution, it is also possible to control fan speed in function of temperature. If the motor is equipped with thermal contacts (TK), RTVS1 can detect motor overheating in an early stage and disable the motor to prevent damage.

Description

RTVS1-50L22

This transformer fan speed controller controls fan speed manually or on demand. It controls single-phase motors. The maximum motor current (combined) is 5 A. The supply voltage is 230 VAC. Modbus communication is used to operate RTVS1. The required fan speed may be adjusted b using a Sentera HVAC sensor, potentiometer (SPV series), or a BMS system with Modbus RTU communication. Fan speed may be set manually or automatically based on temperature, relative humidity, CO2 and air quality (TVOC). The fan speed is controlled by gradually adjusting the motor voltage. The autotransformer technique produces a motor voltage with perfect sinusoidal shape. This ensures that the motor runs quietly. The electrical noise from the autotransformers is reduced using a unique impregnated coating. Surface mounting of the plastic enclosure is possible (IP54 protection).

A room transmitter can measure ambient light levels, relative humidity, and temperature. The distinctive enclosure accommodates flush or surface mounting. The supply voltage is 24 V DC. The sensor algorithm controls the single analogue output based on the measured values. This one output can be used to directly control an EC fan, an AC fan speed controller, or a damper actuator. There is a choice in output format. All measurements and the output value are accessible via Modbus RTU. The ambient light sensor can be used in a variety of applications to control the ventilation system based on the amount of people present in the room. Adjustments are possible for every setting with Modbus RTU. The light levels of the LEDs used for status indication are also programmable. This HVAC sensor is frequently used to regulate humidity and temperature in data centers, museums, wine cellars, etc.
