Product description
ROTSN passive temperature probes are designed for reliable and stable ambient temperature measurement. They use a PT500 platinum sensor with a positive temperature coefficient of resistance, meaning its resistance increases with temperature. The sensor has a resistance of 500 Ω at 0 °C.
The sensor element is enclosed in a plastic casing with an IP30 protection rating. It connects via a screw clamp terminal block suitable for a grounded shielded cable with a maximum cross-section of 1.5 mm². The low-profile housing features concealed screws.
Key features include excellent long-term stability (< ± 0.04%) and an insulation resistance of over 10 MΩ. The sensors operate within a temperature range of -20 to 60 °C and a relative humidity of less than 95% rH (non-condensing), making them ideal for stable measurements.

How is the sensor installed, and what are the power and connectivity requirements?

The sensor does not require a separate power supply. The platinum sensor element can be connected using a shielded 2-wire cable via the screw terminal block. This terminal block is suited for cables with a maximum cross section of 1.5 mm2. We recommend to keep the cable length limited. The longer the cable length, the higher the influence of the resistance of the cable on the measurement readout.
