Product description

This controller is designed for single-phase motors with a maximum current of 4 A. It provides manual AC fan speed control via a potentiometer, allowing for adjustment from high to low, with a full OFF position. The minimum speed can also be fine-tuned using an internal trimmer.

For precise fan speed regulation, the controller uses TRIAC technology with phase-angle control to reduce the motor voltage. It operates on a 230 VAC power supply and features an integrated orange LED to indicate when it is operating.

It supports surface mounting and has an IP54 rating, providing protection against dust and water ingress.

Additional specifications and description

How Does the LTXN Series Offer User-Friendly and Efficient Fan Control for Homes?
In residential environments a simple control solution that is also cost-effective is always preferable. The design of the LTXN series is plain and fits any interior style.
Controlling the fan speed using LTXN is as easy as turning on and off the lighting in your home. Via its rotary knob the fan speed can be set from high to low by simply turning it clockwise.
LTXN is a solid and reliable control solution, which reduces the noise levels emitted by the fan and increases the service life of the motor connected to it. The result is simplified manual control, reliability, efficiency and unrivalled simplicity of installation.

How Can the "OFF" Position Be Managed for Continuous Operation?
In spite of being a simplified fan speed control solution, LTXN features an OFF position — turning the knob anticlockwise stops the motor. If necessary, the OFF position can be deactivated. In this case, the motor can run when the power supply is available, i.e. when the device is connected to the mains. As standard, the supply voltage to LTXN is connected via terminals ↑ and N. To disable the OFF position, you need to connect the supply voltage via the terminals intended for the unregulated output, namely ↓ and N.

What Is the Purpose and Function of the Unregulated Output?
LTXN features an unregulated output, which is active when the motor is enabled. If the supply voltage is connected to ↑ and N, the unregulated output is active while the motor is in operation. The unregulated output is used to control external devices such as valves, dampers, relays, extra run indicators, etc. that can work without the need to regulate the incoming voltage. In other words, LTXN controls the fan via the regulated output via controlling the voltage with the option to regulate one more device. But this time the voltage is unregulated, i.e. either 0 V or 230 V.
If you connect the supply voltage to LTXN as standard and as advised by the relevant documentation, the unregulated output of your controller will be active when the motor is enabled. This means that when the fan stops, the connected external device will be disabled — the valve or damper will be closed or the run indicator will switch off. While the fan is working, the valve or damper will remain open and the indication light will be switched on. The maximum current is 2 A.

How Is Minimum Fan Speed Optimised for Performance and Noise Reduction?
LTXN features an internal trimmer for adjusting the minimum fan speed. The motor might produce a little more noise at lower speeds (due to the imperfect sinusoidal shape of the motor voltage). The minimum motor voltage can be adjusted in order to avoid motor stalling at low speed and optimise fan speed for your ventilation system. That is why this controller features the internal minimum speed trimmer. It can be set within the range 20—70 % of the supply voltage, which is equal to about 80—180 VAC.

What Motor Types Are Compatible and Can Multiple Motors Be Connected?
The series is intended for AC fans and control is realised via reducing the motor voltage. AC fans run on an alternating current and convert alternating current into mechanical power. This means that the series is suitable only for voltage-controllable motors. You can connect several motors to the controller as long as the current limit is not exceeded. If you are not sure about your motor type, we strongly advise you to read carefully its accompanying documentation or contact the motor manufacturer.

Can Multiple Motors Be Connected to This Controller?
You can connect several motors to the controller as long as the current limit is not exceeded. In this case, all of them will run at the same speed.

What Are the Design, Durability and Mounting Features of the Enclosure?
The enclosure of LTXN is made of durable white ASA plastic. The material is UV resistant and provides protection against dust, water splashes and impacts. What is more, you can install LTXN on any kind of wall or panel. It is easy to clean using only a damp cloth.
