Product description

This is a single-phase motor two-speed controller. The maximum motor current (combined) is 13 A.

This controller has two distinct 5-step switches for selecting between two ideal fan speeds. It is possible to swap between the two specified speeds using the digital input. Normal motor functioning can be indicated by the unregulated output.

The fan speed is controlled by lowering the motor voltage using autotransformers. This method produces an output voltage with a perfect sinusoidal form, ensuring silent motor running.

The enclosure is surface mountable and provides IP54 protection against dirt, dust, and moisture entry.

Transformer-based fan speed controllers
This simple transformer-based fan speed control solution features:
- Robust Design: They are built to withstand harsh environmental conditions, ensuring reliable operation over an extended period.
- User-Friendliness: Their easy installation and operation make them accessible to a wide range of applications.
- Step Control: The controllers provide speed control in incremental steps, allowing users to adjust fan speed according to specific requirements.
- Energy Efficiency: By reducing motor voltage, these controllers optimize power consumption and minimize energy waste, resulting in energy savings.
- Cost-Effectiveness: Compared to more complex speed control methods, transformer-based controllers offer a cost-effective solution for regulating motor speed.
- Noise Reduction: As they don't rely on electromagnetic excitation in motors, these controllers minimize noise generation during operation, making them ideal for noise-sensitive environments.
- Long Service Life: With proper maintenance, these controllers can provide a durable and reliable speed control solution for an extended period.
Overall, transformer-based fan speed controllers are a practical and reliable choice for controlling the speed of AC voltage-controllable motors, offering a range of benefits that cater to various industrial and commercial applications.

The series
The SC2-1 series of transformer-based fan speed controllers by Sentera offers specific features that set it apart from other series. The key distinguishing feature is the inclusion of two optimal fan speeds that can be selected via knobs on the enclosure. Let's further explore the unique features of the SC2-1 series:
1. Two Optimal Fan Speeds: The SC2-1 series comes with two pre-configured optimal fan speeds. These speeds can be set using the knobs on the controller's enclosure. This feature allows users to establish different fan speed settings, such as one for day operation and another for night operation or to adapt to varying operating conditions.
2. Energy Savings and Increased Comfort: By providing two selectable optimal speeds, the SC2-1 series enables energy savings and increased comfort. Users can adjust the fan speed based on specific requirements, ensuring that the fan operates at the most energy-efficient level for different periods or conditions. For instance, the lower speed can be chosen during low occupancy or cooler night hours, while the higher speed can be selected during peak usage times.
3. External Change-Over Contact: The SC2-1 series can be switched between the two optimal fan speeds using an external change-over contact, such as a thermostat or timer. This external control capability allows for automated speed adjustments based on temperature, occupancy, or other environmental factors, enhancing convenience and energy efficiency.
4. Ease of Use: The knob-based selection of fan speeds on the enclosure makes the SC2-1 series user-friendly and straightforward to operate, allowing for quick adjustments as needed. What is more, wiring is intuitive and simple! fan speed controller in steps in metal housing with two switches

Unregulated output
The extra, unregulated output (230 VAC) is active when the motor is enabled. It can be used to control an external run-indicator, a damper, etc. For instance when the fan is deactivated, the dampers is closed. When the fan is active, the damper is open.

The enclosure
Enclosures play an important role in protecting the interior components or contents from various external factors such as debris, dust, water, and mechanical impact. The quality of enclosures is indeed essential to ensure the integrity and safety of the enclosed items.
The SC2-1 feature sheet steel enclosures designed to be resistant to external mechanical impacts. They can withstand accidental bumps, collisions, or other physical forces without compromising their structure or the items inside. This feature is particularly important in environments where there is a higher risk of such impacts, ensuring the protection of the enclosed components. The enclosures have a paint finish, which not only provides an aesthetic appeal but also serves as an extra layer of protection against corrosion and other environmental factors. The paint finish helps to enhance the durability and longevity of the enclosure. The EN 62208 certification ensures that the enclosures comply with the standards set for empty enclosures for low-voltage switchgear and control gear assemblies. The ingress protection rating of IP54 guarantees that the enclosures are designed to provide a high level of protection against dust and water ingress, they are effectively sealed against dust particles and can withstand water splashes from any direction, making them suitable for moderately harsh environments.
