The speed of the AC fan is regulated by reducing the motor voltage using autotransformer technology. This technology produces a perfect sinusoidal motor voltage and ensures quiet operation of the motor.
Two optimum motor speeds selectable. Day-week programmed timer allows switching.
TK monitoring function stops the motor in case of overheating. Motor restarts automatically after a power failure.
The enclosure can be surface mounted indoors (IP54).

Quiet operation and long life
The ST2R1 is a fan speed controller for single-phase AC motors. It is equipped with autotransformers that reduce the motor voltage in steps: 80-100-120-150-170-190-230 V. This technique ensures a perfect sinusoidal shape and guarantees very quiet operation and a long motor life. A special coating on the autotransformers also ensures silent operation of the speed controller itself. Autotransformer-based variable speed drives provide the most robust and simple solution for voltage-controllable AC motors.
Special features of the series
Keyboard and display: This transformer fan speed controller can be set autonomously using the built-in keyboard and display. The controller has multilingual menu; you can chose between English, French, German and Dutch.
Standalone or connected to computer: This transformer controller features a USB port for connection to computer. This offers easy reading, changing and writing all device parameters via Sentera’s free 3SMUsb software (part of 3SM Center). You can download it from our website.
Calendar function: This speed controller has a built-in day-week timer. Two optimal speeds can be selected. A day/night or day/week variation can be set via the keyboard interface and the LCD screen. The ST2R1 can be programmed for the whole year, the day, on/off time and high and low speeds can be adjusted. To simplify the settings, you can schedule all five days in the same way and then schedule the weekends, or you can set each day differently, and the programme also has fifty exceptions, which allows you to set the operation of the controller in a completely different way on holidays. So, you adjust the device for year ahead and forget about frequently setting and monitoring it.
Remote ON and OFF: The ST2R1 is equipped with 2 dry contacts which can be used to turn the device on and off remotely using a switch or thermostat.
Thermal protection of the motor: This speed controller can monitor the motor thermal contacts (TK or thermal contacts measure the temperature in the motor windings). If the motor overheats, the TK monitoring function will disable the motor to prevent damage to the motor. If your motor is not equipped with TK contacts, bridge the two TK terminals to simulate normal motor temperature.
Alarm output: The ST2R1 speed controller also has an alarm output which is activated as soon as the thermal protection has turned off the device. This alarm output can be connected to an audible or visual alarm device.
Automatic restart after power failure: The ST2R1 restarts automatically after a power outage. No manipulation or intervention is therefore necessary to make the drive operational after a power outage.
Unregulated output: As standard, the ST2R1 has an unregulated 230 VAC output. This output becomes active as soon as the regulated output to the motor is activated and can be used to open a gas valve, air damper actuator or supplemental lighting. Its maximum current is 2 A.
Solid and robust housing
The housing of the ST2R1 is made of high-quality r-ABS plastic for models up to 7,5 A. This material is extremely temperature resistant and offers high protection against electric shock. For models from 7,5 A, the housing is made of steel. Both enclosures are designed for wall mounting and offer protection against dust and moisture according to the IP54 rating.
