A TRIAC-based regulator designed for single-phase motors, offering variable fan speed control from high to low. It's specifically crafted for single-phase voltage-controllable motors with a maximum current of 0.5 A.
You can fine-tune the minimum speed using an internal trimmer. All models have an extra unregulated 230VAC output.
The enclosure accommodates both inset mounting (IP44) and surface mounting (IP54), and it employs phase angle control through Triac technology to adjust motor voltage and regulate fan speed.

Reliable manual motor control
If you are looking for simplified ventilation regulation, the MTX is what you need! Via a single button – the rotary knob - the fan speed can be set from high to low by turning the knob clockwise. It also features an OFF position. Turning the knob anticlockwise stops the motor.
Use
The series is developed to control AC fans by reducing the motor voltage. AC fans run on an alternating current and convert alternating current into mechanical power. These controllers reduce the voltage to the motor via phase angle control. Therefore, they are suitable only for voltage controllable motors. You can connect several motors to the controller as long as the current limit is not exceeded. If you are not sure about your motor type, we strongly advise you to read carefully its accompanying documentation or contact the motor manufacturer.
An extra output
The device features an extra unregulated output which is active when the motor is enabled. It is called so because it is either ON (230 Volt) or OFF (0 Volt). If the supply voltage is connected to ↑ and N, the unregulated output is active while the motor is in operation. You can use the extra output to control external devices (maximum current 2 A) such as a run indicator light or a damper. This means that while the fan is working, the run indicator will be on or the damper will be open; when its stops, the indicator will be off or the damper will close.
Always running
The OFF position of the rotary knob can be disabled in order to obtain continuous operation of the fan, even when the controller is switched off. This is advisable if you need constant ventilation. To do so, the supply voltage must be connected to the unregulated output (↓ and N).
Minimum speed setting
The MTX features an internal trimmer (marked with MIN) for adjusting the minimum fan speed. This controller uses TRIAC technology (phase angle control) to adjust the motor voltage and to control the fan speed. TRIAC cuts parts of the incoming voltage to reduce the overall motor voltage. Thanks to this technology, the fan speed controller operates without excessive humming and buzzing. Depending on the motor type, the motor might produce a little more noise at lower speeds (due to the imperfect sinusoidal shape of the motor voltage). The minimum motor voltage can be adjusted to avoid motor stalling at low speed and optimize fan speed for your ventilation system. That is why this controller features the internal minimum speed trimmer. Reduced fan speed uses significantly less power than maximum operation and can often be employed, typically during unoccupied or low occupancy.
One enclosure offering different mounting possibilities
The enclosure is made of high-quality ASA plastic in a fine cream colour. This material is UV resistant; it protects against impacts and looks nice. It protects the electronics against ingress of dust, dirt and water splashes and features both inset and surface mounting. The protection class is IP44 for inset mounting and IP54 for surface mounting. Furthermore, the enclosure is solid and, basically, it is fit for mounting in any kind of wall. If you choose the inset option, the mounting holes fit perfectly the standard European wall boxes. Cleaning it is very easy using only a damp cloth!
