Passive temperature sensor | PT500 | metal probe | 4 m cable
Product description
FLTSN-P passive temperature probes are sensors designed to measure temperature with considerable stability.
They measure temperature using a PT500 platinum sensor element. They have a positive temperature coefficient of resistance, meaning their resistance increases as the temperature rises.
At 0 °C, the resistance is 500 Ω.
The sensor element is encapsulated with resin inside a stainless steel tube measuring 53 mm × 8 mm. This encapsulation ensures long-term stability.
The sensor has an unshielded, two-conductor twisted cable (2 × 0.5 mm²) with a length of 4 meters.
Long-term stability: <±0.04%
Insulation resistance: >10 MΩ
These probes are designed for reliable temperature measurement.

How Does This Temperature Probe Measure Ambient Temperature?

This temperature probe measures ambient temperature via a platinum element (PT500). This sensor element has an electrical resistance of 500 ohms at 0 °C. It has a positive temperature coefficient. This means that the resistance increases when the ambient temperature increases. Any device with an input for 'PT500 passive temperature sensors' can read out the measured temperature.
What Are the Sensor Cable Specifications, and How Does Length Affect Measurement?
This temperature sensor has an integrated cable. This unshielded 2-wire cable has a length of 4 m. The wires have a cross section of 0,5 mm². If necessary, this cable can be extended. The longer the cable length, the higher the influence of the resistance of the cable on the measurement readout. This sensor doesn't require a separate power supply.
What Are the Design and Protection Rating Features of the Sensor Probe?
The platinum sensor element is resin encapsulated in a stainless steel tube (53 x 8 mm). It offers an IP65 protection degree against ingress of dirt and water.
