Product description

This is a variable speed controller with run indicator for single-phase motors. The maximum motor current is 4 A.

It regulates AC fan speed from high to low. The fan speed can be set via the potentiometer. This potentiometer has an OFF position (counterclockwise). The minimum speed can be adjusted via an internal trimmer.

The enclosure allows surface mounting only (IP54). The orange operating LED indicator is integrated in the enclosure.

The supply voltage is 230 VAC. Fan speed is regulated by reducing the motor voltage via phase angle control - TRIAC technology.

Why LTX is the right controller
In residential environments a simple control solution that is also cost effective is always preferable. What is more, at home the looks always matter! The design of the LTX series is plain and fits any interior style
Controlling the fan speed using the LTX is as easy as turning on and off the lighting in your home. Via its rotary knob the fan speed can be set from high to low by simply turning it clockwise.
The LTX is a solid and reliable control solution which reduces the noise levels emitted by the fan and increases the service life of the motor connected to it. What you get is simplified manual control, reliability, efficiency and unrivalled simplicity of installation

OFF position
In spite of being a simplified fan speed control solution, the LTX features an OFF position - turning the knob counterclockwise stops the motor. If necessary, the OFF position can be deactivated. In this case, the motor can run when the power supply is available, i.e. when the device is connected to the mains. As standard, the supply voltage to the LTX is connected via terminals ↑ and N. To disable the OFF position, you need to connect the supply voltage via the terminals intended for the unregulated output, namely ↓ and N.

Unregulated output
The LTX features an unregulated output which is active when the motor is enabled. If the supply voltage is connected to ↑ and N, the unregulated output is active while the motor is in operation. The unregulated output is used to control external devices such as valves, dampers, relays, extra run indicators, etc. that can work without the need to regulate the incoming voltage. In other words, the LTX controls the fan via the regulated output via controlling the voltage with the option to regulate one more device. But this time the voltage is unregulated, i.e. either 0 V or 230 V.
If you connect the supply voltage to the LTX as standard and as advised by the relevant documentation, the unregulated output of your controller will be active when the motor is enabled. This means that when the fan stops, the connected external device will be disabled – the valve or damper will be closed or the run indicator will switch off. While the fan is working, the valve or damper will remain open and the indication light will be switched on. The maximum current is 2 A

Internal minimum speed trimmer
The LTX features an internal trimmer for adjusting the minimum fan speed. the motor might produce a little more noise at lower speeds (due to the imperfect sinusoidal shape of the motor voltage). The minimum motor voltage can be adjusted in order to avoid motor stalling at low speed and optimize fan speed for your ventilation system. That is why this controller features the internal minimum speed trimmer. It can be set within the range 20 - 70% of the supply voltage which is equal to about 80 - 180 VAC.

Application
The series is intended for AC fans and control is realised via reducing the motor voltage. AC fans run on an alternating current and convert alternating current into mechanical power. This means that the series is suitable only for voltage controllable motors. You can connect several motors to the controller as long as the current limit is not exceeded. If you are not sure about your motor type, we strongly advise you to read carefully its accompanying documentation or contact the motor manufacturer.

Control more than one fans
You can connect several motors to the controller as long as the current limit is not exceeded. In this case all of them will run at the same speed.

Wall mounted housing
The enclosure of the LTX is made of durable ASA plastic in a nice cream colour (RAL9010). The material is UV resistant and provides protection against dust, water splashes and impacts. What is more, you can install the LTX on any kind of wall or panel. You can clean it using only a damp cloth.
