Product description

This 5-step fan speed controller may be controlled remotely via 5 inputs. It controls single-phase motors. The maximum combined current is 7,5 A. The power supply voltage is 230 volts.

The AC fan speed is controlled by adjusting the motor voltage in up to five levels. An external switch or control device can be used to choose the various steps. The control switch type SMT-1-30-4C is recommended.
This is a three-position switch with an off position.

The exact sinusoidal form of the output voltage ensures silent motor running.

Surface mounting is possible in indoor environments (IP54).

Why opt for transformer-based fan speed control
Choosing a transformer-based fan speed controller offers several advantages for controlling fan speed in various applications:
1.    Robust and Reliable: Transformer controllers are known for their durability and reliability. They are designed to withstand demanding environments and provide consistent performance over a long period of time. This makes them a dependable choice for fan speed control.
2.    Silent Motor Operation: Transformer-based controllers utilize autotransformer technology, which generates a motor voltage with a perfect sinusoidal shape. This results in exceptionally quiet motor operation, making them suitable for noise-sensitive premises such as industrial kitchens or warehouses.
3.    Easy Speed Control in Steps: Transformer controllers allow for simple control of fan speed in steps. By reducing the motor voltage, the fan speed can be adjusted from standstill to maximum speed in incremental steps. This provides flexibility in controlling ventilation according to specific needs.
4.    Extended Service Life: The autotransformer technology used in transformer controllers not only ensures quiet motor operation but also contributes to an extended service life of the motors. The precise voltage control helps reduce stress on the motors, resulting in increased longevity.
Choosing a transformer-based fan speed controller provides robustness, reliability, silent operation, easy control, extended service life, remote control capability, compatibility with AC motors, additional control outputs, and a solid enclosure for efficient and effective fan speed control in various applications.

The extras
The RTR-1 series of transformer fan speed controllers can be controlled remotely, eliminating the need for a physical knob on the controller itself. This offers convenience and flexibility in controlling the ventilation system. An external device, such as the Sentera SMT-1-30-4C switch, can be connected to control the fan speed from a more accessible location.
The RTR-1 series of transformer controllers  include an extra unregulated output (230 VAC) that is active when the motor is enabled. Because this output is either ON (230 Volt) or OFF (0 Volt), it is called ‘unregulated output'. The maximum current of this output is 2 A. It is typically used to control an external run indicator, to open or close a damper, to switch an external relay, etc. When the fan is active, the damper is open or the run indicator is on. This provides additional flexibility and functionality in the system.
Transformer fan speed controllers are designed for easy installation and do not require any configuration or programming. Once installed and connected to the external control switch, they can be used immediately.

Intended area of use
These transformer controllers are specifically developed to control AC fans by reducing the motor voltage. They are suitable for voltage controllable motors that run on alternating current and convert it into mechanical power. Multiple motors can be connected to the controller as long as the current limit is not exceeded, allowing for control of multiple fans simultaneously.

Our high quality enclosure
The enclosure of transformer fan speed controllers is made of high-quality r-ABS VO plastic, which is flame extinguishing and offers good protection against impacts. It is designed to be installed on a wall or panel indoors and provides an IP54 protection rating against dust and water ingress. This ensures the longevity and safety of the controller.
