Single-phase motor transformer fan speed controller. The maximum current (combined) is 7,5 amps.

The rotary switch controls the AC fan speed, which ranges from low to high in 5 steps. There is also an OFF position on this rotary switch. The motor voltage is varied in 5 steps to control the motor speed. The perfect sinusoidal shape of the output voltage ensures quiet motor operation.

The enclosure provides IP54 protection against dirt, dust, and moisture ingress. It can be wall-mounted in indoor settings.

This 5-step speed controller is commonly used to control kitchen hood exhaust fans, ceiling fans, extraction fans, and other similar devices.

Simple 5-step fan speed control
5-step fan speed controllers are widely used in industrial kitchens, warehouses or industrial environments. They are often used as a simple control for regulating extractor hoods or exhaust fans. The fan speed can be increased from standstill to maximum speed in 5 steps. When connected, this controller can be used immediately. No configuration or programming is required. The STR-1 series 
This is a fan speed controller for single-phase motors. Via the built-in rotary switch, you can select one of the 5 speeds. Autotransformer technology is used to reduce the motor voltage and the fan speed in 5 steps. Autotransformer technology is very reliable and robust. It generates a motor voltage with perfect sinusoidal shape. This results in exceptionally quiet motor operation and extended service life. A special impregnated coating reduces the electrical noise from the autotransformers.

Unregulated output
The extra, unregulated output is active when the motor is enabled. This output is referred to as "unregulated" because it is either ON at 230 volts or OFF at 0 volts. The maximum current of this output is 2 A. The unregulated output is commonly used to control various external devices. For example, it can be used to power a run indicator, which will be activated when the fan is running, providing a visual indication of its operation. The unregulated output can also be utilized to control a damper. When the fan is active, the damper is opened to allow airflow, and when the fan stops, the damper is closed to restrict airflow. Furthermore, the unregulated output can be used to switch an external relay or control other devices that require an ON/OFF signal at 230 VAC.

Safely switch output voltages 
When operating the rotary switch of the controller, it is important to avoid turning it too quickly. This is because the switch incorporates a built-in mechanical time delay mechanism. This time delay serves an important purpose by preventing internal sparking when shifting to a different position. By allowing a controlled transition between positions, the mechanical time delay positively impacts the overall service life of the device.
If the rotary switch is rotated too fast, exceeding the duration of the built-in mechanical time delay, the device will remain internally in position 0, which is the OFF position. This means that the intended shift to a different position will not occur, and the device will continue to remain in the OFF state.
To ensure proper operation and prevent any potential issues, it is recommended to operate the rotary switch at a moderate pace, allowing the built-in mechanical time delay to function as intended and facilitate smooth transitions between positions.
