Extract toxic gases
Combustion processes - for example cars moving around in an enclosed parking garage - release toxic gases like nitrogen dioxide (NO2) and carbon monoxide (CO). In order to maintain an adequate health and comfort level, the concentration of these toxic fumes must be monitored. When the concentration rises, the ventilation system will extract the toxic gases and increase the fresh air supply.
Modbus RTU communication
The measured temperature, relative humidity and the trend of the toxic gas levels are available via Modbus RTU communication. The dew point and ambient light level can also be read out via Modbus RTU communication. This sensor doesn't have any analogue outputs. This makes the sensor simpler and more cost efficient. Via the Modbus input register, all measured values and the sensor status can be read out. Via the Modbus holding registers, all the sensor's settings can be adjusted. Monitor toxic gas concentrations
Next to Carbon monoxide (CO) and Nitrogen dioxide (NO2), this sensor will also detect changes in concentration of following gases: Ethanol, Hydrogen, Ammonia and Methane. When the concentration of these gases increase, the sensor output value - which can be read out in Modbus input register 27 - will increase. The trend of the gases is visualized via the LED indicators. The measurement range and the alert range can be adjusted via Modbus RTU communication. The toxic gas sensor element is calibrated and tested in our factory. It doesn't require recalibration.
Reduced installation time
One RJ45 connector is all it takes to connect this sensor! Modbus RTU communication and 24 VDC power supply are connected via one UTP cable - we call it Power over Modbus or PoM. All measured values are available via Modbus RTU communication. To facilitate wiring, we recommend to use a Sentera 24 VDC power supply with RJ45 connector. These power supplies offer protection against short circuit, overload and overvoltage. A 24 VDC supply voltage increases the safety and reliability of your installation.
The enclosure is made of high-quality r-ABS VO (UL94) plastic. This material is solid and offers good protection against impacts. It offers an IP65 protection against ingress of dust and water. The toxic gas sensor needs several hours to stabilize. It doesn't require calibration. We use sensor elements and components of high quality. This ensures the long-term stability and accuracy of this HVAC transmitter. To ensure optimal performance, it should be protected from direct sunlight.
