Product description

A 5-step fan speed controller with an integrated relay for controlling an external gas valve. The maximum motor current is 10 amps (A). . The supply voltage is 230 VAC.

The fan speed may be adjusted using the built-in rotary switch. To monitor air flow, an optional pressure relay is required. If no air flow is detected within 60 seconds of starting the motor, the relay output is shut to cease the gas flow.

Local safety rules sometimes require that gas be delivered only after the kitchen hood exhaust fan above the stove has been turned on. As a result, the SFPR1 series is an excellent fan speed controller for industrial kitchen hoods!

In the event of overheating, the TK monitoring feature deactivates the motor. The built-in rotary switch or an external switch can be used to start the motor. The motor will automatically resume after a power outage.
The housing is made of plastic. Surface mounting is possible in indoor envirments (IP54).

Additional specifications and description

Designed to be a versatile and reliable device for controlling fan speed and associated systems in various industrial applications, the SFPR1 series features remote start/stop, gas valve control, thermal motor protection contacts, automatic reset after power failure and the Sentera standard unregulated output.
Transformer-based fan speed controllers regulate the speed of electric fans by using an autotransformer as a core component of their operation. This specialized electrical component allows for the step control of voltage supplied to the fan motor, enabling precise control over the fan's rotational speed. Autotransformers are known for their efficiency and durability, making them a reliable choice for regulating fan speed over the long term.

Gas valve control
The series features connection for a gas valve, which opens only when the fan is operates properly. When the controller is switched on, the gas valve actuator remains unpowered for 60 seconds. If there is no air flow or pressure difference due to the operation of the fan within this time frame, the gas supply will not start. This mode of operation makes the SFPR1 the perfect control solution for industrial and restaurant kitchens.

Remote control for start/stop
The SFPR1 features normally closed contact. It can be used to remotely turn the controller on and off, as well as to monitor its operation.

Auto power on after power failure
When working with electrical equipment, you must be aware of possible power failures at all times. In the event of such a failure, after the power is restored, the speed controller and motor will restart automatically.

Protection against overheated motor
Many transformer-based fan speed controllers incorporate safety features to protect both the fan motor and the controller itself. These can include mechanisms to prevent overheating of the motor, which in turn extends the lifespan of the fan. The SFPR1 fan speed controller is equipped with terminals for connecting the thermal motor protection (TK). Thermal contacts are used to measure the temperature in the motor windings. In the event of overheating, the motor will be stopped to eliminate the risk of damage or failure. After the overheating protection trips, the speed controller is restarted manually. If the motor is not equipped with thermal contacts, the TK terminals must be bridged inn order to simulate normal operation. kitchen hood controller with gas valve control

Unregulated output
The SFPR1 speed controller has an additional unregulated output (230 V) that is active when the motor is running. It is called unregulated because it has only two positions - on (230 V) and off (0 V). The maximum current for this output must not exceed 2 A.  An unregulated output provides voltage that varies with changes in input voltage.

LED indication
The SFPR1 fan speed controller is equipped with LED indicators located on the unit enclosure. When power is connected to the transformer controller, the indicator will turn green. The red indicator lights up in one of the following cases: motor protection against overheating, lack of air flow or pressure difference, decrease in air flow or pressure difference during operation.

Enclosure
Sentera closely monitors the quality of manufactured and supplied products, both electrical and non-electrical. The body of the SFPR1 regulator is made of sheet steel with a protective paint coating and provides reliable protection against mechanical and other impacts. It is certified according to the European standard EN 62208 and has IP54 protection rating against dust and moisture. To ensure the most reliable and safe operation, as well as to exclude the possibility of overheating, the regulator must be installed in a cool place without direct sunlight. The ambient temperature for the operation of the transformer speed controller must be in the range from -20 to +35 ° C, and the relative humidity - from 5 to 95 %. Moisture condensation in the working room is not allowed.
