Product description

This converter has 4 temperature inputs and 4 analogue inputs. The incoming signals of the temperature probes and the analogue inputs are transferred to Modbus RTU Input registers.

The power supply is 24 VDC, PoM. This means that both power supply and Modbus RTU communication are connected via the RJ45 socket.

PT500 or PT1000 temperature probes can be connected via the 4 temperature inputs.

The type of the 4 analogue inputs can be selected via Modbus RTU: 0-10 VDC / 0-20 mA / 0-100% PWM. The default input type for the 4 analogue inputs is 0-10 VDC.

This module can be DIN rail mounted in an electrical cabinet.

Additional specifications and description

How does it operate?
Sentera devices communicate with one another other through the Modbus RTU communication protocol, which utilizes RS485 technology. In some cases, there is the need to establish communication with non-Sentera products, like damper actuators and EC fans. These external devices can be seamlessly connected through the DADCM-44 module.
External devices transmit data via the 4 analogue inputs and 4 temperature inputs provided by this module. By default, the analogue inputs are configured for 0-10 VDC input signals. However, you can adjust the input type via the Modbus RTU protocol. For the four analogue inputs, you can select between 0-10 VDC and 0-20 mA signals. The four temperature inputs use the signal by PT500 or PT1000 probes.
The values of the incoming analogue and temperature input signals are converted into values stored in eight Modbus input registers, which can be read by a Modbus Master device.

About Modbus RTU
Modbus RTU over RS485 is a widely used serial communication protocol that enables data transmission between devices over a serial communication network using RS485 technology. Modbus RTU is commonly employed in industrial and automation applications to facilitate the exchange of data between various devices, such as sensors, controllers, and actuators, in a reliable and standardized manner.
The DADCM-44 analogue to Modbus converter is a device designed to integrate analogue signals into a Modbus communication network. It converts analogue signals from sensors or other devices into digital Modbus registers for monitoring and control purposes. The converter interfaces with analogue input signals, digitizes them and communicates the digital data over the Modbus protocol. The converter typically operates as a Modbus Slave device, enabling data to be read or written through Modbus function codes.DADCM-44 analogue to Modbus convertor

Simplified wiring
Modbus RTU communication and the 24 VDC power supply for this module are both facilitated through the RJ45 socket, using a standard Ethernet cable. Alternatively, you can create your own cable with an RJ45 connector
It is essential to adhere to the appropriate power and wiring standards when using a 24 VDC Power over Modbus (PoM) supply to ensure safe and reliable operation. The unit is equipped with two RJ45 sockets – one for PoM and another for connection to other Modbus modules. For power supply to the converter, a specially designed DIN-mounted 24 VDC power supply module is available.

LED indicators
The unit features standard three green LED indicators on its enclosure, representing power status, data transmission, and data reception. Each of the two RJ45 sockets includes two green LEDs, which blink to indicate active Modbus RTU communication.

DIN rail enclosure
DIN rail enclosures are specifically designed to mount and protect electronic or electrical components on a DIN rail within an electrical cabinet or control panel. These enclosures are commonly used in industrial and automation settings to secure and organize various devices. The DADCM-44 enclosure, like other DIN rail enclosures, is designed to be compact and easy to install. It is manufactured in-house to guarantee quality and durability, and installation is straightforward – just mount the device onto the rail and lock it using the clip at the bottom of the device.
The enclosure has an ingress protection rating of IP30, which means it provides protection against dirt and dust. It is made of a high-quality PC-ABS plastic blend that combines the toughness and heat resistance of PC with the ductility and processability of ABS.

We gebruiken deze om onze analoge sensoren (maakt niet uit welk merk) toch te kunnen uitlezen met onze PLC. Veel goedkoper dan I/O poorten.
